Eenie's Wonderful
Waterways
Eenie Meenie Beenie Bo
Eenie’s waterways always flow Creating a world of colour and life Showing us how to forget all strife Have you seen the rivers, lakes and sea? Just to enjoy and to be - Eenie loves the waterways Large or small these make his days Seventy percent of Our Earth is water Eenie hopes every son and daughter Will visit places in the deep - What a wonderful chance to reap! Eenie has a special tour in mind So that we learn to be very kind To creatures, beings and water life Letting care and gentleness run rife We meet Eenie’s marvellous friends, From tadpole to shark - we can understand There is such a really wonderful world That goes far beyond life on the land Eenie honours Frank the Frog Who swims in the pond and sits on a log Frank is fearless every night and day His croaky sound is a cheerful HOORAY! Daisy the Dolphin is especially bright She protects her family by day and by night In the oceans her babies learn to be wise And that there is nothing to despise Carl the Crocodile lives at the Nile Wow just see his incredible smile - Not for him any worry or fear Strength and power are much more dear! Ancient Turtle Terry dwells at the coast From this habitat he is a fantastic host - Creating safety for a new generation Enabling a beach run sensation Beautiful birds nest by the River Ganga Enjoying a really magical time - Too many for Eenie to mention here Yet all important to this waterways rhyme Watching the waves is so much fun Sam the Seagull likes also to run Along the line of the wonderful coast Remembering not to scream or boast The coral reef beauty calms the mind Attracting sea life of every kind The wonder of this natural world Beneath the waves is being unfurled Have you seen Stig the Stingray? Carlos Crab or Len Lobster today? Just see the colours- so very bright The water world is a fabulous sight Eenie Meenie Beenie Bo On the deep blue sea let’s enjoy a row Listening to the ocean wave sounds Letting dreams and plans do their rounds Sally the Starfish is very, very wise A teacher with a special guise Offering classes in ocean survival Ensuring that listening has a revival! William the Whale also attends Pausing in his vast global trip Giving a ride to Eenie and friends Always ready to prevent any slip Eenie enjoys the changing tide The calm, the currents and of course the seaside Keeping away from any sight of a net Relaxing - pausing at sunrise and sunset To all the waterway creatures we say - We respect you and hope you are here to stay Wherever you swim, wherever you dwell Eenie has so many stories to tell Eenie Meenie Beenie Bo Like these waterways let us flow All cares and worries far away we blow - And - instead - love and joy we sew! |
Eenie's Feathered Friends
Eenie has some feathered friends
They live in every place
They range in size, colour and kind
And in their face - and pace!
Some call these feathered friends exotic
Others call them very bright -
They are certainly not robotic
Just watch each one in flight!
Have you seen the way birds fly
Up, up and up, high in the sky
Singing, circling, playing with joy
Looking down on each girl and boy!
Eenie rides aboard the eagle to meet
Many feathered friends as a treat -
Some live in lands so terribly cold
While others in deserts he can behold!
Penguin Pete’s march is so very smart
The snow and ice he loves with his heart -
While in the desert on the sand
Rod Roadrunner and Will Woodpecker land
At day break birdsong sounds
Give Eenie so much joy - what fun!
Singing along with Larry Lark on his rounds
Eenie loves the new day’s sun!
Nighttime hoots from Oliver Owl
Can end any childish wish to scowl
Wonderful sleep and dreams unfold
And ‘Thanks for the day’ - as Eenie has told
Let us all join in and sing
And find a feathered friend - to bring
Days and nights of so much love
Beauty and peace - like Daisy Dove
Each and every day in life
Let’s find a bird friend to end any strife
Adopt a bird in our family of trust
Robin Redbreast is one who likes to be fussed!
Eenie likes to see our tree bird house
A home for his friends from the sky
Not a place for Mike the Mouse
Trees can be really quite high!
Happy days and nights of bird song
Means that we can all sing along -
Loving the colourful feathered friend
Eenie enjoys from beginning to end
Let’s count how many we see every day
Let’s find out who they are
With Eenie let’s discover more
And add them to our special folk lore
In India Pankaj Peacock struts with pride
With beautiful feathers - never to hide!
Meanwhile Eric Eagle flies on high
Zipping across the American sky
So many migratory birds on the go
From season to season their plans they sew
Meeting up in exciting places
Enjoying record winning trips and races!
Alaska to New Zealand Sue Shorebird dares
7,000 mile nonstop -no food or drink or cares
Fred Frigatebird flies and sleeps in the sky
Burt Bar-headed Goose reaches over 4 miles high
Paul Peregrine Falcon for food can dive from the air
242 miles per hour - for himself - not to share!
George Great Snipe from Scandinavia to Africa flies
Becoming so slim as he races through the skies
Eenie watches and celebrates
The feats of his flying friends
Perhaps one day wings he too creates
Do not think the story ends!
We are lucky to play in Eenie’s world
Seeing wonderful bird wings unfurled
We can also travel to Eenie’s lands -
Enjoying together, clapping our hands!
